Last weekend was carried out the first National Forum on Education Social Change in the city of La Plata. Around 2000 people from around the country and even the rest of Latin America, we found this space to discuss the current education system and transformative project that bet. From Black River provinces, Neuquén, Mendoza, La Pampa, San Luis, Córdoba, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Salta, Santa Fe, Misiones, Buenos Aires Federal Capital and people came to the Forum. They also said this comrades from Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay and Nicaragua.
Met an approach to the discussion of educational issues from a multisectoral perspective, giving space to voices of all involved in educational practices, both formal and nonformal. The bet was set up we met a look of general education from a perspective that tends to end the current fragmentation, to break down barriers and cross borders.
In this regard, the Forum served as a genuine meeting place for different experiences in working with development groups to participate in social movements, artistic, university student groups, secondary and tertiary guilds education workers.
During the course of it, we take stock of what palpably meant and means the advance of neoliberalism, its impact on educational content and how the commodification of all life inevitably affects the commercialization knowledge. Aware of the limits containing any conversion within a capitalist society that continues, we discussed about the need to build an education reform project that allows us to start building and imagine this the future we envision.
recognized that the road must be traveled to profound changes in the basic education system to defend public education, a defense seeking to recover the popular sense of the public, and that antagonize the expansion of private education that only contributes to the deepening of social differences.
In turn, we saw how this political project raises the importance of rebuilding the guild tools as organizational spaces, both for education workers and students. Recovering means not only conquer space but also creating a new meaning to the integral sense beyond the mere claim that corporate economic.
During the forum we suggest that a real transformation project should include alternative educational experiences that are carried out usually in areas non-formal, thereby seeking to recover the value of popular wisdom, placing them in a horizontal plane in relation to other types of knowledge recognized as scientific. At the same time must incorporate practices that promote artistic expressions of human creativity and they are planted against the discipline and the reduction of the imagination. Also in relation to the various modes of oppression and how we imagine that education must reverse the current mechanisms of social order, there is an approach that went through many instances of debate and had a central place in specific topics: how we will build debates about patriarchy and the forms this takes in our societies. In this sense, is a clear need exists to address ever more fully the discussion in terms of distorting practices and devices that we have internalized as individuals constituted in the contradictions of the capitalist system.
mentioned in this debate, as well as others that were generated, we confirm the intuition that certain genuine construction processes are being Americas, where wealth and complexity, motorized discussions worldwide. The presence of groups in many countries of our continent at this meeting contributed to sharing experiences and stories treat realized much of this complexity and generate demand for advance agreements concerning the challenges. As well expressed in the panel that discussed the social movements in our countries are difficult times ahead for the social majorities, in this sense, it is critical that we sharpen our tools to discuss issues as fundamental as those that make our educational practices.
In this context, as a balance sheet, saw the potential of the base buildings, on the way to build people power from below, in multiple spaces and territories, we're thinking is essential now to bet on the formation of all the comrades and the collective discussion. This will enable us reflect on our actions and projects from the beginning as the horizontal, the grass-roots democracy today enable us to be the change you want to see morning, and strategies to tighten our collective march toward social change we crave. Because we believe, with the Movimento Sem Terra in Brazil, which who fight, you know. But he reflects on his struggles, fights much better.
